Bastiodon is a Rock & Steel Pokémon which evolves from Shieldon. It is vulnerable to Fighting, Ground and Water moves. Bastiodon's strongest moveset is Iron Tail & Stone Edge and it has a Max CP of 1,539.
"This Pokémon is from roughly 100 million years ago. Its terrifyingly tough face is harder than steel."
Smack Down sports high damage output backed by STAB, but has below-average energy generation.
Stone Edge takes advantage of STAB to deal considerable damage, but does cost quite a bit of energy. Flamethrower acts as a coverage option for when Bastiodon's Rock-type moves would be resisted, and is also valuable against other Steel-types. Flash Cannon costs the most amount of energy, and despite getting STAB, is not recommended due to its lack of relevancy in the meta.
Bastiodon is the epitome of the word "Wall," and not just because its face looks like that. With absolutely monstrous defensive stats (higher than Deoxys-Defense), Bastiodon takes barely any damage from neutral hits, and it often takes double effective damage from Fighting- or Ground-type attacks to really break through. While Bastiodon's primary role in the metagame is as a hard counter to Flying-types like Altaria and Skarmory, it's also generally incredibly powerful, and a worthy inclusion to your team. However, it does struggle to beat other "Steel Tanks", due to its much slower moveset.
Maxes out in the Great League, best keep it there.
No hope in sight for the Master League.
