Carnivine is a Grass Pokémon. It is vulnerable to Flying, Poison, Bug, Fire and Ice moves. Carnivine's strongest moveset is Vine Whip & Power Whip and it has a Max CP of 2,159.
"It binds itself to trees in marshes. It attracts prey with its sweet-smelling drool and gulps them down."
Wine Whip is more preferable for its significantly better energy generation, though Bite can catch opponents off guard with its superior damage output.
Power Whip is a very strong charge move, and benefits from STAB. Energy Ball deals the same damage, but costs 10 more energy which makes it a direct downgrade. Crunch is recommended for its lesser energy cost, in addition to it being the only coverage charge move available.
Carnivine is a mono-Grass Pokemon with average bulk and an interesting moveset with Dark-type coverage. Crunch and Bite gives it a niche as a Grass without a Dark defensive typing. However its stats, bulk, and typing are somewhat lackluster when considering the overall meta. That doesn't mean Carnivine is a bad Pokemon; it can easily dispatch most meta Water-types with ease, but without a typing advantage it falls behind other meta picks.
Carnivine has a max CP of 2159, which is insufficient for Ultra League. While it has a niche at beating certain Water Pokemon, a loss against Lapras, in addition to most other meta Pokemon, makes this plant difficult to recommend for this league. And no, Bite movesets can not beat Giratina or any of the meta Psychic Pokemon.
Carnivine would look like a salad when considering the stats of legendaries roaming Master League.
