PVP Mode Explanatory Notes

PvP Moveset Explanation
Poison Jab + Megahorn and X-Scissor or Sludge Bomb

Poison Jab offers superior energy generation, but Bug Bite can still be viable if Bug-type coverage is preferable, or if the former would be resisted.

X-Scissor costs the least amount of energy, gets STAB, and can be used frequently to either bait shields or chip away at the opponent. Sludge Bomb provides strong Poison-type coverage, hits quite hard with STAB, and costs a modest amount of energy. Megahorn is the main niche for Scolipede, as it hits very hard with STAB, and lets Scolipede stand out from other Bugs and Poison-types. Gyro Ball is a mediocre move, costs a steep amount of energy, and doesn't provide much value other than targetting Scolipede's weakness to Rock-types.

PvP Rating Explanation
Great League: 2.5 / 5

Scolipede is another Pokemon sharing the Bug/Poison typing, with somewhat below-average bulk, and access to the powerful Megahorn. While other Bug-types tend to struggle due to unimpressive movesets, Scolipede stands out with a decently high ATK stat and the potential to deal major STAB damage with Megahorn. Poison typing defensively is a plus, as resistances to Counter and Charm can come in handy. Megahorn also threatens Psychic-types that would threaten Scolipede, though this can also causes losses for Scolipede if shielded. If you decide to go with the traditional coverage moveset involving X-Scissor and Sludge Bomb, Beedrill also sports that same moveset but features slightly better bulk. Scolipede's niche is mainly focused on Megahorn.

Ultra League: 1.5 / 5

With a max CP of 2447, Scolipede just barely falls short of the CP cap of Ultra League. Unfortunately Scolipede performs pooly in this meta where Dragons and Steel-types are ubiquitous. Its niche mostly comes down to beating Grass and Fairy-types, as bulky meta Psychic-types can outlast Scolipede through sheer bulk and advantages against Scolipede's Poison typing.

Master League: 0 / 5

This bug ain't messin with no dragons in the big league.
