Shelgon is a Dragon Pokémon which evolves from Bagon. It is vulnerable to Ice, Dragon and Fairy moves. Shelgon's strongest moveset is Dragon Breath & Dragon Pulse and it has a Max CP of 2,031. Shelgon evolves into Salamence.
"Inside Shelgon's armor-like shell, cells are in the midst of transformation to create an entirely new body. This Pokémon's shell is extremely heavy, making its movements sluggish."
Dragon Breath is the recommended fast move, with high damage output backed by STAB. Ember sports the average 3.0 DPT (Damage Per Turn) and 3.0 EPT (Energy Per Turn), which is inferior stat-wise but its typing gives it a niche.
Twister offers horrible damage output for its energy cost, but STAB makes it a little less miserable to use, in addition to it being cheaper in energy than Shelgon's other charge moves. Flamethrower offers some extra coverage, in particular against Shelgon's weakness to Ice-types and common Steel-types. Dragon Pulse is significantly more powerful than Twister, but high demands for energy makes it very cumbersome to use.
Shelgon is one of the few Pokemon blessed with the powerful Dragon Breath, which alone can handle numerous off-meta picks thanks to its high STAB damage output. Unfortunately, access to poor charge moves makes Shelgon rather slow with shield pressure, and a relatively high ATK stat limits its bulk in Great League. While Dragon Breath is an excellent move, it's not enough to beat most meta Pokemon in this league.
Shelgon has a max CP of 2031, which doesn't even reach the CP cap of Ultra League.
At least consider evolving into Salamence if you're gonna consider Master League.
