Talonflame is a Fire & Flying Pokémon which evolves from Fletchinder. It is vulnerable to Rock, Water and Electric moves. Talonflame's strongest moveset is Fire Spin & Brave Bird and it has a Max CP of 2,205.
"In the fever of an exciting battle, it showers embers from the gaps between its feathers and takes to the air."
Incinerate has an edge over Fire Spin due to superior energy generation, but can be more difficult to use in practice due to its very long animation. Peck and Steel Wing both offer similar damage output and below average energy generation, making them less desirable.
Flame Charge requires the least amount of energy to use, and while not particularly strong, offers a guaranteed buff to ATK. Brave Bird is a very efficient and powerful move that deals significant damage, but can be risky to use due to its self-debuff. Hurricane and Fire Blast demand too much energy to use.
Talonflame is a Fire/Flying Pokemon with well-rounded stats and average bulk. A relatively cumbersome moveset may result in losses against Pokemon with faster movesets, though access to the powerful Brave Bird may give it some 1-shield bait-and-nuke plays, or potential 0-shield OHKOs. Unfortunately without any exceptional qualities, Talonflame doesn't offer much to stand out amongst the meta, with losses against neutral opponents like Mandibuzz or Sableye.
Talonflame has a max CP of 2205 at level 40, though at level 50 this increases to 2493, making this bird rather expensive to use for Ultra League. Due to its slow moveset, Talonflame prefers to play when its opponent doesn't have both shields available, giving it potential to land its powerful Brave Bird. However, a double weakness to Rock-type attacks in addition to a dislike towards Electric-types can result in struggles against Pokemon with coverage moves. It should be noted that while simulations suggest a strong performance for Talonflame, in practice the difficulty of Incinerate's slow animation in addition to the reliance of successful baiting to land a +1 or +2 Brave Bird can result in inconsistent wins.
Talonflame lacks stats for Master League.
