PVP Mode Explanatory Notes

PvP Moveset Explanation
Fire Spin + Blast Burn* and Close Combat

Fire Spin is preferred for its considerably better energy gains compared to Rock Smash, though both moves offer the same STAB damage output.

Blast Burn is a legacy move obtained during Chimchar's Community Day, and is a direct upgrade over Flamethrower in both damage output and energy cost. If you don't have the former, then the latter is still okay for providing Fire-type coverage. Close Combat takes just a tad more energy to pull off and also has STAB, making it another worthwhile move for its wide coverage.

PvP Rating Explanation
Great League: 1.5 / 5

Infernape has no real place in the Great League. All of its notable wins are better handled by other Pokemon, and it has too many losses to be worth considering.

Ultra League: 1 / 5

Once again, Infernape has no place in the Ultra League due to holding no niche of its own.

Master League: 0 / 5

Perhaps Candela should re-think her Master League team...? At least until it learns Blast Burn.
